Is PUBG a Chinese game ?

PUBG corporation 's orignal owner was a South Korean video game studio named Bluehole . Game was developed in 2017 and was at it's initial stage in tech gaming community .

Later in the year 2018 a Chinese multinational gaming company named Tencent acquired 10% shares in Bluehole becoming it's second largest share holders 

This was the turning point for PUBG 

Soon Tencent developed the mobile version of the game with some modifications , which gained immense popularity in gaming community across the globe 

So PUBG  is not entirely a chinese game but PUBG mobile was developed by chinese company so major revenue of the game goes to it

Buisness growth and Revenue of Pubg

The business of Tencent was growing with a great speed 

Tencent’s PUBG Mobile game has earned more than $1 billion revenue over the past one year with a growth rate of 540%, according to the latest report by Sensor Tower Store Intelligence. “PUBG Mobile has grown its gross revenue from approximately $25 million in August 2018 to slightly more than $160 million last month, an increase of about 540%,” it said.

Why was PUBG banned in India ?

The plot twister for the story came in june 2020 when Governor of India decided to ban over 120 Chinese applications including Pubg mobile and TikTok over cyber security issues 

It was alleged that these applications were leaking the data of user's to chinese company and diplomats,  which in a way is threat to the Nation 

And also against the ethical grounds of international relationship 

However it is been suspected that government took this decision over the rising tension between Indo-China border .

Will PUBG comeback in India ? 

Though PUBG Corp had officially confirmed that it is re-entering India market with the creation of an Indian subsidiary and a new game, the company had not specified any date. A lot of rumours had flooded the online platforms that the new game could be launched on Friday. However, there seems to be no official confirmation yet on the date of launch of the new game. To assuage privacy and data security concerns, PUBG said it will conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users' personally identifiable information to reinforce security and ensure that their data is safely managed. To build and foster a healthy gameplay environment, in-game content will be improved and tailored to reflect local needs, it added.

Various aspects of the game will be customized for Indian gamers, such as the game now being set in a virtual simulation training ground, new characters automatically starting clothed, and green hit effects to reflect the virtual nature of the game. The company will include a feature that places restrictions on game time to promote healthy gameplay habits for younger players.
